Hi everyone, my name is Cade Murphy and I am a Certified Executive Coach and lead coach for Vital Impact Coaching. Over the past couple years I have been coaching leaders at all levels of organizations and tracking my learning about what makes the biggest difference in peoples lives and have first hand experience of what is really holding people back from achieving everything they set out to – or at least tell themselves they have set out to achieve, more on that later.
What I have noticed however is that executive coaching is somewhat of a niche profession that few people have ever heard of, fewer know what it is, and even fewer have adequate access to it. I think this is tragic because learning about coaching, how it works, what its base tenets are, etc., can not only dramatically improve any leaders effectiveness in an org., it can also greatly enrich the lives of anyone who has the courage to approach it.
In this blog I will go to great lengths to demystify, simplify, and explain the practice of coaching and hopefully open at least a portion of the population to its incredible benefits so that true, pure, trained coaching can flourish and the world can reap the benefits.
While good coaches possess an incredible and valuable skill set, they are often incapable or at least weak at explaining coaching to people who have never experienced it or even have reservations about it in general. The truth is, coaching is quite complex and difficult to grasp because it isn’t emphasized or organic in our culture – I hope someday to change that.
In this blog, I aim to bridge the gap between those who “get it” and those that don’t by taking the time to explain coaching from as many different angles as necessary to help the reader understand and even explain it themselves. I have never met someone who has experienced coaching and regretted it but have encountered countless who have stories of how coaching has helped them take control of their future and live with greater purpose – I think that is pretty cool and worth talking about and invite you to join me along the way.
In your greatness,
